About the Publication

Like for many others in the agri-finance ecosystem, 2020 was a challenging year but also a year of learning for the SAFIN Network. With the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, the Network was forced to re-examine its working modalities and value proposition while aiming to turn new challenges into opportunities.

The SAFIN Annual Progress Report 2020 documents the results achieved from collaborative work among all SAFIN partners. Throughout the year, learnings from key analytical processes were documented in 17 knowledge products; agri-finance practitioners were convened in 15 webinars and learning events including the first virtual SAFIN Annual Plenary Week; SAFIN remained an active champion for increased investment into agri-SMEs in global and regional forums; and new tools for connectivity were introduced to the Network. As the final year in our pilot phase (2018-2020), much time and effort were also dedicated to charting the path for the strategic direction of the Network in its next phase from 2021-2025.
